"We had an aggressive schedule to maintain which necessitated constructing through winter, so precast was our first choice for the project.... but aesthetic benefits were achieved as well. "
- Jay Knetter, AIA, VP Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Inc.

Working with real estate management company Interstate Partners, LLC, American Transmission Co. has a new place to call home since the end of the summer of 2009. At that time, they were working out of two leased buildings, the electric transmission utility company and its employees now work under the single roof of its new headquarters in Pewaukee's Ridgeview Corporate Park. The 157,000 square foot facility includes a corporate office building and systems operations center which enables the company to monitor and operate the flow of electricity to customers through Wisconsin and Michigan. With customers counting on ATC to provide the pathway to electrical power, it was essential the facility feature weather resistant building components. Designed with durability in mind, ATC's new headquarters features more than 70,000 square feet of Spancrete Hollowcore and 56,000 square feet of Architectural and Structural Wall Panels with an acid etch and thin brick architectural finish. The use of precast in this structure provide the essential protection from blast, wind and Mother Nature, all vital project requirements for this client.
