Spancrete, Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin, recently completed the structural precast work on the Resch Center project. Approximately $2,650,000 precast work was provided for this new event center. Spancrete provided over 30,000 square feet of structural riser and seating components, and 40,000 square feet of exterior architectural precast wall panels. The exterior architectural precast finish was composed of a white cement with a light sandblast to create the ideal look for the new center. The design of the architectural exterior was very detailed and complex. Approximately, 250 precast wall panel pieces were used in this exterior design. The panels were enormously large weighing up to 70,000 pounds each. A number of these large panels were manufactured curved and skewed to accommodate the design needs on the project.
Various Spancrete plants located in Valders, Green Bay and Waukesha, Wisconsin teamed up to manufacture the precast concrete products for the project. Riser production took place in Green Bay, WI; and the architectural precast wall panels were produced at the Spancrete plant in Valders, WI.
Miron Construction, one of the largest general contractors in the state of Wisconsin, was the general contractor on the project and instrumental in the construction of the Resch Center. This 80-year old company was able to construct the project under the time constraints and as a success.
Spancrete has been involved with many major performing arts centers, arenas and sports facilities over the years including the Bradley Center, Kohl Center, Pettit Center, Miller Park and Lambeau Field located in Green Bay, WI.
