This 90,000 square foot athletic and aquatic center was installed in just one year! Spancrete provided the precast plank, columns, beams, wall panels, double tees and corner pieces. Spancrete materials are ideal for creating large open spaces required in gyms or pools. Apart from the long open spans to enclose a pool, there is the caustic environment to consider. High humidity combined with chlorine can damage many interiors, but Spancrete's dense concrete resists corrosion, making for a low-maintenance facility. Concrete is less susceptible to expansion and contraction than steel. Also, concrete's thermal mass retains heat better, further reducing heating and maintenance costs.
