Spancrete Invests in Employees Futures through Continual Learning

“Quality Concrete School” is the name of the two-day exclusive training program in Appleton, Wis., recently attended by eight employees of Spancrete®––the world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of precast, prestressed concrete products and solutions.

“Our mission isn’t just about providing quality precast products, service and machines,” says Al Antoniewicz, Spancrete® COO. “It’s all about building innovation and continual learning by investing in our employees, and providing them with the training and education they need to ensure their success and ours through developing the finest production processes available today and tomorrow.”

The training program was customized for Spancrete® and was presented by St. Mary’s Cement, St. Mary’s, Ontario, and Murphy Concrete and Construction (MCC), Appleton, Wis., at MCC’s headquarters. Training subjects included the latest in concrete manufacturing process, mix-design mathematics, concrete aggregates, chemical admixtures, and testing. Spancrete® attendees also visited off-site labs for hands-on testing and mix-design experience.

Based on the initial success of the program and high marks given by attendees, Spancrete® will be building innovation with another group of employees participating in the St. Mary’s Cement Quality Control School in December.
